Yes, I have actually achieved another content update. Please check out the first draft of Animal's Eye. It's my photo gallery. I've got a few photos posted, but I'm not sure about the format / layout.
If you have any comments, please use the tag board, after all, that's what it's there for.
I've finally completed a long planned, often delayed upgrade to my webspace. And now, you are all welcome to start checking out Animal's Wired World. Content is still a little light. I've had far too much trouble with my crappy ISP webspace host, MTS.
However, I have begun integrating my Blog with my webspace to provide more content for visitors. I know Stormy, those photos are next on my list, along with a whole shwak of others for Arie.
More and more changes are coming, please stay tuned! And of course, drop me a tag and let me know what you think. Just type your name and comment, no need to use email addresses if you don't want to.
Animal is very happy today indeed! Actually, I've been very happy since Tuesday afternoon when I passed my last exam. 4 out of 5 on the first try with only one re-write!
So, what does all this mean? Well, it means that I now have two new designations from Microsoft.
For Microsoft .NET
For Microsoft .NET
Next up will be my MCT renewal at the end of September, which I can do no problem.
So, very pleased that the past two years of learning have been successful. I'm also glad the pressure is now gone to get these exams completed. I needed to finish them by Sep. 30 in order to renew my MCT status.
Oh, and sorry for the delay in posting. Yesterday was very busy at the office. The internet / network was seriously cramped and I didn't have enough bandwidth to do my job, let alone post.
And now the time has come, to face the final Exam Re-Write!!
Yes readers, it is that time. Time for the Animal to Re-Write exam #2. Of the 5 I wrote, I only missed #2, so I need to pass it by Sep 30. So today is attempt #2 and if I don't pass this time, I have one more shot on Sep. 30. Which also happens to be the deadline for passing all my exams.
So, by 4:00 pm this afternoon, I will either be really happy and celebrating, or I will be really pissed off and wondering if I really know anything about the product the exam is on. Arrggg, the trepidation is almost unreal.
Well, my sister and her friend, Clayton are both fine after a very serious car accident Sunday evening. So, I'm very glad to let everyone know that the only broken bone was my sister's re-fractured collar bone. She broke it at fight training a little over a month ago, so all that healing has been lost and it is now a fresh break. As for Clayton, he sustained no actual broken bones, which is really unbelievable from what I've been told of the crash! Although, he has seriously sprained his leg, back, and neck.
So best wishes and a speedy recovery to both of them! Get well soon.
And thanks very much to everyone who expressed there best wishes. Your concern is GREATLY appreciated!
My sister was in a serious car accident last night
My sister, Lil, was in a serious car accident last night. As we were just celebrating the victory of the East Division Championship won by the Winnipeg Goldeyes, my sister and her friend Clayton were in a T-Bone collision on Broadway.
Both of them were taken to hospital. For more details, please visit my sister's blog.
It was a stunning moment when I pressed the End button on my last exam. I had struggled with a few areas and wasn't very confident. In fact, I had already made myself some future study notes on the areas and topics that I needed to review, in anticipation of my rewrite. However, once that button was Pressed the screen said "Congratulations, you actually passed this exam" or something pretty close to that anyway!!
So ALRIGHT 4 of 5 exams are now out of the way. I rewrite to go and I'll be completed. If I schedule things right, I should have three more shots at the exam before the end of the month.
Done, another exam spanked!! This one I was very confident on thankfully! One more tomorrow afternoon and the main writing will be complete. I have to do a rewrite, but not until next week.
So if you've been keeping up to date on this blog, which by the way isn't hard to do, you'll be wondering what is causing my the delay this week for my posts. Well, let me tell you, in one word: Exams!!
Yes that's right. I left school, been out for over 12 years in fact. But in one of the more ironic facets that is my life, I've chosen a profession that requires exam writing every few years. So this year, I have to write 5 exams by September 30th. Yes, that's right, 5 computer based multiple choice exams before the end of this month.
This pressure is brought on from Microsoft. As a certified trainer, I must prove how much I think I know about their technology. This year, all Developer trainers are required to upgrade their premier designations to MCSD .NET or be stripped of their MCT designation.
So, being the glutton for punishment that I am, I started writing last week. 2 exams: 1 Thursday; and 1 Friday. Passed Thursday, Failed Friday. And that's all I know. They don't even give you a score anymore. No areas of weakness, no benchmark at all, which REALLY sucks. So today was exam number 3 of 5. Passed, thankfully! I still pissed that I missed the one on Friday.
Tomorrow is exam 4 and Friday is exam 5. So, if the posting seems rather anemic, that is why.
